HOW TO REACH US

Sorano represents, together with the other villages marked by the same ancient history such as Sovana and Pitigliano, one of the most interesting places to visit for those who have a keen and devoted interest in discovering sites of historic importance.

The surrounding area besides offering extremely interesting itineraries for archaeology lovers, thanks to the Etruscan necropolis situated here, also offers great moments of relax in the numerous thermal baths present. In fact, 3 km from Sorano surrounded by woods and vineyards are located the wonderful thermal baths of the Terme di Sorano, which takes its source from a hot water spring with exceptional therapeutic qualities.

The famous Terme di Saturnia are located approximately 20 km, which is a renown sulphurous water spring.

How to reach us

From Florence
Approx. 180 km
 Take the A1 Highway (Autostrada del Sole) to the Val di Chiana exit. Take the provincial road (blue sign) for Bettole-Torrita di Siena and take the Cassia state road at Gallina towards Rome until reaching Ponte a Rigo.

Then turn left onto the Provinciale 20 and in the Località Sordino turn left for Sorano-Pitigliano and then right for Castell’Azzara.

From Siena
Approx. 100 km
 From Siena take the Cassia towards Rome until reaching Ponte a Rigo, then right onto the Provinciale 20 and in Località Sordino turn left for Sorano-Pitigliano and then right towards Castell’Azzara.

From Rome
Approx.170 km
 There are 3 routes:
 take the Fiumicino-Civitavecchia Highway to Montalto di Castro. Turn right onto the Provinciale Caninese until reaching Valentano. Then turn left onto the SS74 towards Cantoniera and then in the direction of Sorano-Castell’Azzara-Pitigliano.

 Take the Cassia 2 to Viterbo, then take the SS74 towards Capodimonte-Valentano and then turn left in the direction of Cantoniera-Sorano-Castell’Azzara-Pitigliano.

 Take the A1 Highway (Autostrada del Sole) to Orte-Viterbo, and then take the SS74 in the direction of Cantoniera-Sorano-Castell’Azzara-Pitigliano.

From the Costa Maremmana
There are 2 routes:

 From Grosseto (approx. 100 km) take the Aurelia state road all the way to Albinia, and then SS74 in the direction of Pitigliano-Sorano-Castell’Azzara.

 From the Argentario (approx. 60 km) take the Aurelia state road all the way to Albinia, then turn left onto the SS74 in the direction of Pitigliano-Sorano-Castell’Azzara.
