An Introduction to the Cuisine and Travel of the Tuscany Region

Italy, a country in Europe, is famous for its history, its beautiful landscapes and its traditional food. One of the most well-known regions in Italy which attracts many tourists each year is Tuscany. Let find out more about its cuisine and travel.


Tuscany in Italian is Toscana. The region locates in the central of Italy. By the West of Tuscany region, you can see long beautiful beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea and by the North; you can view the Apennine Mountains and the Apuan Alps.


Tuscany regions’ lands are so fertile that they produce the best olives and grapes, making the wines of Chianti region and olive oils so appetizing. If you are a wine enthusiast, you should try Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano from Sangiovese. If you want to try white wine, have a sip of Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
Besides having top-notch ingredients, there are also many famous dishes in Tuscany as well.
Pappa al Pomodoro is the most famous food of Tuscany. Many other provinces and cities in Italy adopt this food. The ingredients are very basic: Tuscan bread, tomatoes, garlics and basil leaves. You can see the combination of these ingredients anywhere in Italy for sure.
There is almond biscotti called Cantucci, which is best served with a glass of the Vin Santo.
Crostini di fegato is one famous Tuscany starter. It is a mixture of chicken liver, butter, onion and capers as well as anchovies. This mixture is then applied to bread and ready to be served. Tuscany’s families often make it at the weekend.
Bistecca all Fiorentina is a special steak made in Florence style. The steak is cooked so rare you can see uice coming when you cut it. You can enjoy the steak with beans or crispy salads.
You can also experience Tuscany street food culture by trying Lampredotto. Lampredotto is a type of broth cooked from the fourth stomach of the cow. You can eat this broth with salsa or any spicy sauce.


Coming to Tuscany, you will have many unique chances to see some of the world’s most famous Renaissance artwork and architecture such as “David” statue by Michelangelo and the Duomo basilica of Florence.
